Eiffel Tower Fireworks
The short answer: there are no fireworks launched from the Eiffel Tower on New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve 2025, the official Paris show took place at the Arc de Triomphe, on the Champs-Élysées. The Tower's real fireworks show is the Bastille Day one: launched from the Tower and the Champ-de-Mars, and moved to July 13 in 2026. For December 31, 2026, the official program has not been published as of September 24, 2026: this page will be updated. The two big dates
New Year's Eve, December 31
This is the most common mix-up. Many visitors expect fireworks on the Eiffel Tower at midnight. In fact, the City of Paris holds its official celebration on the Champs-Élysées.
What happened on New Year's Eve 2025. There was no concert that year. At 11:50 pm, a video mapping was projected onto the Arc de Triomphe, followed by the countdown and fireworks at midnight. Entry to the avenue was through security checkpoints, with pat-downs and bag checks. Alcohol was banned inside the perimeter. No fireworks were launched from the Eiffel Tower. Crowds still gathered at the Trocadéro and on the Champ-de-Mars: at midnight, you see the Tower lit up, sparkling on the hour after dark, as on its usual schedule.
For December 31, 2026. The official program has not been published as of September 24, 2026. Last year, the City announced it around December 23. This page will be updated as soon as it is released, with the location, times and station closures.
The Bastille Day fireworks
This is the only big fireworks show launched from the Eiffel Tower. It usually takes place on the evening of July 14, on the Champ-de-Mars, after the Concert de Paris.
What happened in 2026. To honor the victims of the Nice attack of July 14, 2016, the City of Paris moved the fireworks to Monday, July 13, 2026. Because of a heat wave, public access opened at 8 pm (instead of the planned 4 pm), the concert started at 9:45 pm and the fireworks at 11 pm. The police prefect banned alcohol in public spaces. The show, themed "Happy together," lasted about twenty minutes in twelve scenes, with 1,600 drones placed for the first time on two sides of the Tower: the Trocadéro side and the Champ-de-Mars side.

Where is the best spot to watch the Eiffel Tower fireworks?
On the Champ-de-Mars, at the foot of the Tower, where the concert takes place; or on the Trocadéro esplanade, facing the Tower above the Seine. Nearby bridges such as the Pont de Bir-Hakeim offer a more distant, often partial view. All of these spots are free, with security checks at the entrance to the perimeters.
Is the Trocadéro metro station open on fireworks night?
Not on the July fireworks night: on July 13, 2026, Trocadéro station was closed from 6 pm, as were Passy, Bir-Hakeim and École Militaire, and Iéna was exit-only. On New Year's Eve 2025, Trocadéro was not on the RATP closure list, but Iéna and Boissière closed at 4 pm, and Passy and Dupleix at 9 pm.
Where can I have dinner with an Eiffel Tower view on New Year's Eve?
Around the Trocadéro: Café de l'Homme and Girafe at the Palais de Chaillot, Monsieur Bleu at the Palais de Tokyo, and Les Ombres on the roof of the Musée du quai Branly. On the water, Bateaux Parisiens runs a New Year's Eve cruise from the foot of the Tower, back at the dock at midnight. Book early and check each venue's December 31 offer.
