Detailed hours

The Eiffel Tower is open every day of the year, including Sundays and public holidays. Only the closing times vary by season.

Off-season (outside summer): open from 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Summer (summer holidays, roughly mid-June to late August): open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.
Last ascent: last ascents at 10:45 p.m. in the off-season. In summer, last ascents to the 2nd floor by elevator at midnight.
All hours are subject to change without notice. Check the official calendar before your visit, especially around the switchover dates between the off-season and summer.

When to visit to avoid the crowds

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited monuments in the world, and the wait can climb fast. Plan on 15 to 20 minutes just to clear the security checks before reaching the elevators.

The quietest slots are right at opening, from 9:30 a.m., and at the very end of the day. In the off-season, aiming for the last ascent at 10:45 p.m. lets you enjoy an illuminated Tower with far fewer people. Outside school holidays, midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) is generally calmer than the weekend.

Whatever time you choose, booking your ticket online with a specific time slot is still the best way to skip the line at the ticket windows and secure your access, especially to the summit, which is in high demand and often sold out.
